DRAW SHAVE HAND TOOL

The Draw Shave or Draw Knife is a hand tool used to remove bark from logs. The name was first used about 400 years ago. The tool it self is still used in the home today by wood workers craftsman and hobbyists.

 The tool itself has a blade in the center with wood handles on both sides. The hand tool is pulled by hand toward the person using it. Other uses in the home might be for art to shave clay or wax as well as wood. The Tool is also used for pre shaping wood to be turned on a wood lathe.
